Jaquet Droz celebrates Valentine’s Day with a new limited edition Petite Heure Minute. An ode to sensuality, this timepiece adds a new face of cuprite, a precious stone first discovered in the mid-19th century. This singular mineral is challenging to work with due to its tendency to crumble, but the result brings a unique shimmer to the dial, showcasing the mother-of-pearl hour and minute counter.

About the porcelain white subdials are black printouts that mark out the hours and tens of seconds. Both subdials also possess a railroad-style track round the periphery to help in legibility. The hour and minute hands, in addition to the big running moments hands, are all made out of 18k red gold. To get a dash of color, the crown can be made from 18k red gold. What’s also really cool is the watch will include a fitting rolled-edge hand-made fabric strap. Rather than a pure white porcelain instance, we’ve got a black porcelain case. The dial is also black and also decorated with clous de Paris guilloche. The overlapping subdials for your time and running moments are, as you might have guessed, in ceramic. Like the white version, the hour, minute and seconds hands are made from 18k red gold, which contrasts strongly against the black dial. The crown, however, is black ceramic rather than 18k red gold like the white ceramic version. The watch also comes with a matching roll-edged hand-made black fabric strap. These two versions are powered with the self-winding Pre Owned Jaquet Droz Watches Replica 2663A, which beats in 4Hz and has a power reserve of 68 hours. The motion appears to be rather handsomely decorated with conventional finishing techniques such as côtes de Genève, circular graining, and polished surfaces. On the black ceramic version, the movement is treated with ruthenium to provide it a dark look. This comes at a 44mm black porcelain case, but it’s a bit thicker at 13.03mm due to its movement. It’s mostly like the Grande Seconde Black Ceramic Clous de Paris view, except it’s a power reserve indicator on the dial at 9 o’clock. Such as the Grande Seconde Black Ceramic Clous de Paris watch, the Grande Seconde Power Reserve Ceramic Clous de Paris watch has a black dial decorated with Clous de Paris guilloche, and 18k red gold hands for the hours, minutes, and seconds. The power reserve scale is marked with red gold, whereas the hand for the power reserve indicator is black-colored gold. All in all, the power reserve indicator was cleanly and neatly implemented. Oh, this version has the exact same black fabric strap which echoes the dial texture as it does on each watch. Nice.
The gleam of the 18-carat red gold case echoes the dainty gem-set bezel and accentuates the fiery red colour of passion, love and emotion. The Sonora Sunrise cuprite used in this watch comes from Mexico and the fragments were carefully selected by the artistis at Jaquet Droz. Copper oxides in the stone conjure up visions of a red planet or some fiery star in a solar system of fantasy.
