The figure 8, symbol of Jaquet Droz, is revisited by the three new models – two Grande Seconde and a Grande Seconde Power Reserve – in a combination of Roman and Arabic numerals, and accentuated by a dial featuring a “clous de Paris” motif. Traditionnaly found on classic-style watches, this type of guilloché work is brought to the forefront for a richly textured dial, which lends the timepiece a unique sense of character.
On the ceramic white subdials are black printouts that mark out the hours and tens of thousands of seconds. The two subdials have a railroad-style track round the periphery to help in legibility. The minute and hour hands, as well as the big running moments hands, are all made from 18k red gold. For a dash of colour, the crown can be made from 18k red gold. What is also really cool is that the watch will include a matching rolled-edge hand-made fabric strap. It looks really nice from the media photos, although being white, I am concerned it might get stained easily. There’s also a black ceramic version of the above-mentioned model known as the Jaquet Droz Vintage Watches Replica Grande Seconde Black Ceramic Clous de Paris. In place of a pure white porcelain instance, we’ve got a black ceramic case. The overlapping subdials for the time and running seconds are, as you may have guessed, in ceramic. Like the white model, the hour, minute and seconds hands are made out of 18k red gold, which contrasts strongly from the black dial. The crown, however, is black ceramic rather than 18k red gold such as the white ceramic edition. The watch also includes a matching roll-edged hand-made black fabric strap. These two models are powered by the self-winding Jaquet Droz 2663A, which defeats in 4Hz and has a power reserve of 68 hours. On the dark ceramic model, the motion is treated with ruthenium to give it a dark look. This comes in a 44mm black ceramic case, but it’s a bit thicker at 13.03mm because of its movement. It’s mostly like the Grande Seconde Black Ceramic Clous de Paris view, except it has a power reserve indicator on the dial at 9 o’clock. The power reserve scale is smartly marked with red gold, whereas the hand to the power reserve indicator is black-colored gold. All in all, the power reserve indicator has been professionally and professionally implemented. Oh, this model has the exact same black cloth strap which echoes the dial texture as it does on each watch. Nice.
The ceramic that makes up the 44mm case and dial counter is incredibly resistant and practically scratch proof. Moreover, its luster and color will not tarnish with years.
The Grande Seconde models house the manual-winding Jaquet Droz 2663A-S Calibre, beating at 28’800 vph et offering a 68-hour power reserve.

The Grande Seconde Power Reserve Black Ceramic model displays this feature via a golden-color scale matching the 18K red gold hours, minutes and seconds hands. The latter’s sparkle is beautifully enhanced by the contrasting black or white dial and red gold screws and crown, in the case of the white version.
The fabric strap, bringing to mind the “clous de Paris” motif, is secured with a folding clasp in ceramic and black PVD-treated stainless steel, or with a 18-karat red gold ardillon buckle for the white model.
Each model is limited to 28 pieces, with the individual serial number engraved on the case-back.
